Idaho's Consumer Choice - 2008/2009
St. Luke’s has been recognized as one of the nation’s top hospitals by the National Research Corporation (NRC) for 2008/2009. The Consumer Choice Award honors hospitals chosen by consumers as having the best overall quality, best doctors and nurses, and the best image and reputation. St. Luke’s has received this designation from NRC annually since 2000.
100 Top Hospitals National Benchmarks for Success - 2008
Thomson Healthcare named St. Luke’s Boise/Meridian a 100 Top Hospitals National Benchmarks for Success award winner in 2008, which means we rank well above the top 90 percent on hospital-wide performance when compared with 3,000 of our national peers (Teaching Hospitals). St. Luke’s Boise and Meridian are the only Idaho hospitals in the ranking, with determinations based solely on objective statistical analyses: patient outcomes, patient safety, national treatment standards, efficiency, and financial stability.

Avatar Exemplary Service/Overall Best Performer
St. Luke's Boise/Meridian/MSTI were recognized by Avatar International Inc., with an Exemplary Service/Overall Best Performer Award. St. Luke's was recognized as one of 10 organizations out of more than 300 hospitals in our bed-size category (300-400 beds) with the highest combined outpatient, ambulatory surgery, ED, and inpatient patient satisfaction scores.
Idaho Hospital Association Citation for Meritorious Service - 2007
St. Luke’s Mountain States Tumor Institute (MSTI) was awarded the Idaho Hospital Association’s 2007 Citation for Meritorious Service, honoring our nearly 40 years of cancer care and service. St. Luke’s MSTI was recognized for dedication to the study, prevention, and treatment of cancer, and the contemporary, comprehensive, and compassionate care we provide our patients.
Breast Imaging Center of Excellence Award - 2007
St. Luke's Center for Breast Imaging was recognized by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the Society of Breast Imaging with a 2007 Breast Imaging Center of Excellence Award. The only center in Idaho to receive this award, St. Luke's was honored for meeting all of the ACR's breast-related accreditation standards.
Magnet Hospital
On February 1, 2006, St. Luke’s Boise/Meridian was re-designated
by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as southern
Idaho's only Magnet hospital. St. Luke’s shares
this distinguished award with some of the nation's finest
hospitals, including Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles and
Mayo-Rochester in Rochester, Minnesota. The gold standard
for nursing services, the Magnet Award recognizes hospitals
for nursing excellence and quality patient care.
Microsoft
Hospital of the Year - 2006
St. Luke’s efforts to continually use advances in technology to provide
the best possible care to patients have been honored by the Microsoft Corporation
and the Microsoft Healthcare Users Group (MSHUG). St. Luke’s was named
the top hospital in the country for use of technology in health care. The
annual MSHUG awards recognize significant contributions made by organizations
and individuals to improve the quality of patient care. More

Luke’s in Top One Percent for Urology
St. Luke’s Boise Medical
Center ranked among the top 50 hospitals nationwide in
urology by U.S. News & World Report in their 17th
Annual “America’s Best Hospitals” rankings,
which were released in July 2006. A hospital’s
overall performance is summed up by its U.S. News score,
which is made up of three equal parts: reputation, mortality/death
rate, and a mix of care-related factors such as nursing
and patient services.
American Society of Clinical
Oncology Award
St. Luke’s Mountain States Tumor Institute was recognized by the American
Society of Clinical Oncology for efforts to improve the care of people with cancer
through participation in clinical trials. St. Luke's MSTI was one of only 12
community oncology practices in the country to be honored in 2006.

& 2005
St. Luke's has been listed as a Solucient 100 Top Hospitals
- National Benchmarks for Success facility. Solucient
selects hospitals that have achieved excellence in quality
of care, operational efficiency, financial performance,
and adaptation to the environment.
Top 100 Hospital - Cardiovascular
St. Luke's was listed as a Solucient 100 Top
Cardiovascular Hospital for 2004. Solucient selects
hospitals based on excellence in patient care, efficiency
of operations, and sustainability of cardiovascular
performance.
Idaho Chapter March of
Dimes Nurse of the Year – 2006
St. Luke's Health System caregivers earned 13 of
the 20 Idaho Chapter March of Dimes Nurse of the
Year awards.
2004 VHA Mountain States Improvement Award for Clinical
Effectiveness
The 2004 VHA Mountain States Improvement Award for Clinical
Effectiveness was presented to St. Luke’s, as an
organization that successfully implemented improvement
activities by engaging leadership, physicians, and health
professionals to improve clinical quality outcomes and
patient satisfaction.
2005 VHA Award for Clinical Excellence in Critical Care
St. Luke’s Critical Care Unit was honored to receive the 2005 VHA Award
for Clinical Excellence in Critical Care. The VHA Award for Clinical
Excellence honors organizations that have distinguished themselves from other
VHA members by achieving national performance standards.
Blue Cross of Idaho Hospital
Quality Award – 2006 Award
of Merit
St. Luke's received a 2006 Award of Merit from Blue
Cross of Idaho for safety and patient care.
Blue Cross of Idaho's Quality Incentive Program measures
patient safety and the quality of health care in hospitals,
and associates payment with good performance and outcomes.
St. Luke’s Medical Imaging Accreditation
St. Luke’s Medical Imaging Departments are accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) in CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammography, and nuclear medicine. ACR accreditation assures patients, referring physicians, and payers that St. Luke's Medical Imaging facilities have undergone a rigorous review process and meet nationally accepted standards of care.

Pain Center Accreditation
St. Luke’s Chest
Pain Centers, in Boise and Meridian, have been granted
the first accreditations in Idaho from the Society of
Chest Pain Centers (SCPC), an international
professional society focused on improving care for patients
with acute coronary difficulties.
Children’s
Hospital Accreditation
The National
Association of Children’s Hospitals
and Related Institutions has accredited St. Luke’s
Children’s Hospital on an annual basis since 1992.
